The senior B Nanaimo Timbermen had a big win, but couldn’t keep it going.

The city’s West Coast Senior Lacrosse Association team defeated the Langley Warriors 11-10 on Friday in overtime, but lost 16-7 to the Ladner Pioneers on Saturday. Both games were on the road.

In the win, Jon Diplock had three goals and three assists and Andrew Miller had four points including the game-winning goal. Joey Fendick scored a pair. Ryan Forslund and Corey Shires had a goal and three assists each and Ryan Hanna also tallied. Danny Walters was injured near the end of the game and Conor Woroniuk faced a lot of shots in a short spell of relief to earn the win.

In the next day’s game, Corey Shires and Fendick both scored hat tricks and Derek Lowe was Nanaimo’s other scorer. Woroniuk and Matt Zeller tended goal.

GAME ON … The senior B T-men host the Royal City Capitals on Saturday (June 3) at 8:15 p.m. at Frank Crane Arena and then visit the Coquitlam Adanacs on Sunday.
