The senior A Nanaimo Timbermen, winless in four, are intent on getting back to their best lacrosse and that’s what they’ll need this week.

The city’s Western Lacrosse Association team faces the Victoria Shamrocks on Friday (June 30) down the Malahat.

Kaleb Toth, Timbermen coach, said he expects his team to come out with intensity for a game like that, but added that “it doesn’t matter who we play, we have to come prepared to win and expect to win every single game we play. It doesn’t matter if it’s a first-place team, middle-of-the-pack team or last-place team.”

Toth said the Timbermen will need execution on offence and communication on defence and need to step out on the Shamrocks’ shooters.

“We’ve had success against Victoria, we can have success against Victoria, we know how Victoria plays,” he said.

GAME ON … Nanaimo’s next home game at Frank Crane Arena isn’t until July 15.
