Nanaimo Hornets to play first-ever quadruple-header

The Nanaimo Hornets RFC senior women’s team handed a 47-0 loss to their rivals in Cowichan Valley at the Cowichan pitch on Herd Road last Saturday afternoon.

“Women continue their fine form, currently sitting top of Island with 22 points,” noted a social media post from the Hornets.

The Hornets RFC rugby club is hosting what it says is its first-ever quadruple-header on Saturday, Nov. 23, with three senior men’s team and a senior women’s side taking the pitch against Victoria’s Castaway Wanderers at May Richards Bennett Pioneer Park. The women’s match is at 10:30 a.m., the Div. 3 men play at noon, the men’s premier reserves play at 1:30 p.m. and the premier men play at 3 p.m. Admission to watch Hornets home matches is always free.
