The Nanaimo Hornets will look to survive a shark attack this weekend.
The Div. 1 men’s rugby side hosts the Bayside Sharks in provincial semifinal action on Saturday (April 29) at May Richards Bennett Pioneer Park.
Bayside upset Abbotsford last week to earn the matchup against Nanaimo, who had previously qualified.
Nanaimo is in the running for its third championship of 2017, having already won the Times Cup and the Cowichan Cup.
Saturday’s semifinal kicks off at 2:30 p.m. and Bayside will bring over its masters side to take on the Nanaimo Yoos-to-Bees in a 1 p.m. match. Admission to Hornets rugby matches is always free.
The Hornets are asking fans to wear yellow and black when they come out to the pitch.
