One Nanaimo soccer team is still in the hunt in B.C. Soccer’s adult provincial cup playdowns.
The Mid Isle FC Mariners U21 side, a Nanaimo-Ladysmith team, won a 5-4 barnburner against Gorge FC on Saturday afternoon at Merle Logan Field to advance into the next round of the provincial cup playdowns.
The Mid Isle U21s will face West Van FC in provincial semifinals; scheduling hasn’t been determined.
This past Sunday, Mid Isle’s Div. 3 men lost 2-1 to FC Serbia United at Ladysmith’s Forrest Field and were eliminated from provincial B cup playdowns.
