A local teen has a knack for lawn bowling, and it will take him to nationals.
Jason Valchar, 14, will represent B.C. at the Bowls Canada junior championships in Dartmouth, N.S. from July 31-Aug. 5.
Valchar recently took bronze at the Bowls B.C. junior championships in Saanich.
He has been competing in the sport for three years and this will be his second appearance at nationals. He also recently took up coaching other youths.
Valchar will be accompanied at nationals by his coach, Shirley Phillips.
