The junior A Nanaimo Timbermen were doubled up by the Delta Islanders.

Nanaimo lost 10-5 to the Islanders on Saturday on the road in B.C. Junior A Lacrosse League action.

The T-men led 2-0 after one period, but were outscored 5-1 in the second period to surrender the lead.

Matt Alcorn led Nanaimo’s offence with two goals and Teagan Pothier and Gordie Walls had a goal and an assist each. Nolan Morrison was the other scorer for the Timbermen. Darian Claxton tended goal and made 40 saves as his team was outshot 50-39.

GAME ON … The Timbermen visit the New Westminster Salmonbellies on Saturday (May 6) at Queen’s Park Arena, then return home Sunday to play the Burnaby Lakers at 4:30 p.m. at Frank Crane Arena. Tickets will be available at the door.
