The defending champions will play this year’s top-of-the-table club in Canadian Premier League soccer action.

Victoria’s Pacific FC hosts Atletico Ottawa in the first half of a two-match playoff this Saturday, Oct. 15.

The Langford-based team split its last two games of the regular season to finish in fourth with 46 points. On Saturday, PFC lost its last game of the regular season 1-0 to Cavalry FC in Calgary, with Cavalry scoring the winner in the 89th minute. Three days earlier, Pacific FC had beaten Forge 1-0 in Hamilton, with Jordan Brown scoring his first goal for the team.

In four meetings with Atletico Ottawa this season, Pacific FC has fared well, winning two and losing one, with their most recent clash ending 1-1 on Sept. 11.

Pacific will play two legs against Ottawa, the first on Oct. 15 at 4 p.m. at Langford’s Starlight Stadium and the return leg in Ottawa on Oct. 23.

Pacific FC is coached by James Merriman, who is from Nanaimo.
