The Nanaimo Clippers are busy building their team for next season and beyond.
The BCHL club announced last week that defenceman Jeremy Gervais has committed to play for Nanaimo for 2017-18. The 18-year-old played with the Cariboo Cougars of the B.C. Major Midget League the last two seasons and led all defencemen in scoring with 15 goals and 49 points in 37 games.
The 5-foot-11, 175 pounder added 12 points in eight playoff games to help the Cougars win the BCMML championship.
In other Clippers news, the team held its spring camp this past weekend at the Nanaimo Ice Centre.
