Two Nanaimo Clippers recently committed to play hockey at NCAA schools.

Joe Perry, a 20-year-old Nanaimoite, is off to play Div. 3 hockey at St. Norbert College in Wisconsin in the fall.

“This is great news for Joey and I know he will be a contributing member of the Green Knights … on and off the ice,” said Bill Bestwick, Clippers coach, in a press release.

Also, Brayden Jaw has decided to attend Harvard University of Div. 1’s Ivy League.

“Brayden is a prototypical power forward with great speed and will be an asset to Harvard and their style of play,” Bestwick said.

Jaw just turned 18 last month and will return to the Clippers for the 2010-11 season.
