Home field was no advantage as the Nanaimo Pirates lost four straight on the weekend.

The Hub City Paving Pirates lost 6-0 and 5-4 to the White Rock Tritons on Saturday at Serauxmen Stadium, then got shut out 2-0 and 10-0 by the Abbotsford Cardinals the next day at the stadium.

In the one-run loss, James McDonough led the Pirates, going 2-for-3 with an RBI. Shawn Arabsky had a hit, two walks and two runs scored.

In Sunday’s early game, Josh Burgmann was tagged with the loss on the mound, striking out seven over seven innings. Chris Vlaj doubled.

North Rainey was the losing pitcher in the blowout loss despite allowing only one hit and two earned runs over five innings. Aaron Page went 2-for-3 at the plate.

GAME ON … The Pirates are on the road next weekend, visiting the Coquitlam Reds on Saturday (June 28) and then the Vancouver Cannons on Sunday in New Westminster.
