Whitecaps fans travel first-class

The Vancouver Whitecaps hear the cheers from across the strait.

The Major League Soccer club announced this week a partnership with Harbour Air to fly fans over for home games at B.C. Place stadium.

Harbour Air will unveil a Whitecaps-branded seaplane that will begin flights this summer. It will provide regular service, charter flights and will shuttle Whitecaps players to and from special events.

Fans travelling to games will receive a 20-per cent discount on flights.

“We have a large and passionate fan base on Vancouver Island, including the Georgia Strait Supporters, who will really benefit…” said Bob Lenarduzzi, Whitecaps FC president, in a press release. “At the end of the day, Whitecaps FC are British Columbia’s team, and we’re excited that this partnership will help our fans get to our home matches.”
