Team B.C. eyes football talent

Nanaimo is a hotbed of football talent and Team B.C. recognizes that.

A dozen locals were invited to Football B.C. provincial team selection camp in Richmond next month. Team B.C. players will have the opportunity to represent their province in national or international competition.

Invitees were selected based on their performance at combines in January and February.

Football B.C.’s U18 invites include: Malik Besseghieur, receiver, Nanaimo District Secondary School; Cole Virtanen, defensive back, John Barsby Secondary School; Matt Hill, defensive line, Barsby; Parker Bowles, linebacker, Barsby; Brandon White, DB, Football Nanaimo; Cory Fletcher, LB, Football Nanaimo.

U16 invites include: Steen Rasmussen, DB, Football Nanaimo; Dylan Strutt, offensive line, Football Nanaimo; Jaydon Easterbrook, DL, Barsby; Carson Vos, DL, Barsby; Maneel Jaswal, quarterback, NDSS; Chaz Richey, receiver, NDSS.
