Dover wrestler wins B.C. title
For the first time, a Dover Bay Secondary School wrestler won provincial gold.
Faye Tuck won her division at the B.C. High School Wrestling Championships March 2 at the Island Savings Centre in Duncan.
In the final, the two grapplers split the first two rounds and then neither scored in the third round. That meant sudden death, where the Port Moody girl twice broke the rules of engagement – attacking two legs instead of one to start – and was disqualified.
Tuck advances to nationals in Saskatoon next month.
