VIU volleyball returns home

One of the longest road trips of the season was a successful one for Vancouver Island University’s volleyball teams.

The VIU Mariners women’s v-ball team swept its matches against the College of the Rockies Avalanche on Friday and Saturday in Cranbrook, while the M’s men won Saturday after losing Friday.

VIU’s women won Friday by scores of 25-10, 25-16, 25-15 and then won 25-17, 25-21, 25-22 the next day.

The Mariner men lost a closely contested match Friday 25-20, 26-24, 24-26, 25-23 but won in straight sets Saturday, 25-20, 25-23, 25-22.

The VIU volleyball teams return to their  home gym Friday (Jan. 25) and Saturday for matches against the Columbia Bible College Bearcats. The women’s match Friday is at 6 p.m. with the men at 8 p.m.
