Field lacrosse players represent B.C.
Nanaimo lacrosse talent is over on the mainland this weekend to try to help Team B.C. win the big trophy.
Nanaimo’s Corey Shires and Nanaimo Timbermen junior A players Ethan Garland and Matt Messenger are all part of the B.C. team at the Canadian Lacrosse Association’s Field Lacrosse National Championships in Burnaby.
Shires, top scorer in the B.C. Intermediate A Lacrosse League the past two years, was part of B.C.’s runner-up team at field nationals a year ago.
B.C.'s first game at this year's tournament is today (Sept. 2) against Manitoba.
