Nanaimo’s two roller derby teams finally get to crash into each other.

The Nanaimo Nemesis and the Harbour City Rollers get the Vancouver Island Roller Derby Rookie League season underway this Saturday (April 23) with a matchup at the Nanaimo Ice Centre.

Both teams played pre-season games in Comox this past weekend, with the Rollers falling to Cumberland’s Dodge City Rollers 131-113 on Saturday and the Nemesis losing to Comox’s Rink Minx 249-128 on Sunday.

This Saturday’s match at the NIC is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. Admission is a suggested donation of $5.
