Lacrosse players rise to challenge

Two Nanaimo lacrosse players got fired up at the Adrenaline Challenge tournament in San Diego earlier this month.

Mitchell Backstrom and Hans Jessen were part of the Burnaby Mountain Selects senior team that went 4-1 in the tourney’s elite division. Over 80 U.S. college coaches scouted the tournament.

Backstrom is from Dover Bay Secondary School; Jessen, from Aspengrove School.
