The letter writer makes several incorrect assumptions.
Many residents are not rich; some of us are old but we are not selfish. We can, however read. We can read about council hiring people to tell them how to get along. We can read about the losses incurred by the conference centre. We can read about the cruise ship dock being underused. We can read about Nanaimo Economic Development Corporation and how successful they are or not. We can read about the turmoil at council meetings. I think the result is there is no confidence in council being on track with the cost or financing of the proposed and now-defeated multiplex plan.
