Memories ruined at park

I am writing in response to what has happened to the tree planted in memory of Len Daynes

To the editor,

I am writing this letter in response to what has happened to the tree planted in memory of Len Daynes in Daynes Park in the Parkwood subdivision.

My family lost my father three years ago on June 9, 2014; a few weeks later my mother and sister and grandkids and good friends planted a handkerchief tree in my dad’s memory. In the last year, not one but now two trees have been damaged and killed. The person or persons who have done this have ruined the memory we have tried to establish in the park; this tree was planted for everyone to enjoy. We have decided that for now we will not be replacing the tree; we do hope that people who enjoy the park will take time to read the insert on the back of the sign of the man who worked very hard to keep the park up.
