Letters to the Editor

Hold all politicians accountable

To the Editor,

Re: McKay tops list of city spenders, June 26.

While I rarely agree with what city council, collectively or individually, says, your recent reporting of only some spending habits hardly seems fair. Coun. Bill McKay may have spent more but he claims to have gone to more meetings,  Would it not have been proper to list all the councillors’ expenses together with all the types of conferences and meetings attended and the locations?

Few of us offer to stand for council nor would want to. We rightly hold them accountable in all areas and will have a chance to change them in November, but we should be given the facts on an balanced slate.
