Nanaimoites don't want garbage ferried to our shores

To the Editor,

Re: Four sites unveiled for new Metro Vancouver waste incinerator, Nov. 21.

Before some one draws a cartoon of  a B.C. ferry towing a garbage scow from Vancouver to Duke Point promoting the thought they can kill two birds with one stone, I’d like to make it clear that

I don’t want Vancouver’s garbage incinerated/ disposed of on Vancouver Island. Texada was able to stop them from filling their quarries some years ago. And Cache Creek finally realized their water table was poisoned.

I’ll support any group opposing importing garbage.
