Theatre renovation a poor use of cash
To the Editor,
Re: Council approves $160,000 facelift for Centre Stage, March 14.
Handing out public monies freely from city hall has become an ignorant joke.
A band of five councillors and the mayor continually write cheques to whomever whines the hardest.
Why in the heck should city taxpayers – who own the crumbling structure – do all the repair work and let the trough feeders use it for free?
There has never, ever been a council in Nanaimo so inept than the one being mismanaged currently by Mayor John Ruttan and his carefree band of free-wheeling, money-spending cronies.
