Rising gasoline costs smack of price fixing

To the Editor,

Re: Oil industry gouging willing consumers, Letters, March 5.

I agree with D.F. Connors completely.

Isn’t it a great coincidence that all the service stations in Nanaimo put their prices up on the same day?  It smacks of price fixing to me.

A gold medal to Quebec for having the intestinal fortitude to address this very same problem. Gas prices never go down to the previous rate even if oil prices do.  Answer that one.

Also, when gas prices go up, everything goes up with it, but when gas prices go lower, other prices do not.

Food keeps going up but is not included in the inflation index and it never goes down.

The old age security went up a paltry few dollars, which the B.C. government took by raising our medical premiums.

If this sounds like a rant, it is.
