LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Mail is moving at a snail’s pace these days

Three letters mailed locally have all taken at least one week to arrive, says letter writer

To the editor,

Sometime before Christmas, Canada Post reported that its service was back to normal. My recent experience with mail from Nanaimo businesses leaves me wondering what their new normal is.

Three letters received from Nanaimo businesses since Christmas have all taken at least one week to arrive. Google tells me that this is literally a “snail’s pace.” The other interesting aspect of this service is that none of the stamps have been postmarked.

Is this the new normal to which we must become accustomed?

Wayne Brown, Nanaimo
