To the editor,
Aren’t you supposed to shout ‘fire’ when you ignite a charge, or make a loud bang to warn others? I believe so.
Here am I sitting quietly at my computer with an open patio door and corresponding with pertinent issues of the day that affect us all, and I just about suffer a heart attack every time the cannon fires. One never anticipates its noise however much one appreciates its historic and visitor appeal. Which I do.
I think museum staff, and visitors alike, would love to bellow out a warning. It would maximize the effect, and save a few lives.
