William MacDonald MACLAUCHLAN

Maclauchlan, William MacDonald, passed away October 25, 2002 at Nanaimo Regional District Hospital. He is survived by his be loved wife of 56 years, Connie, daughters: Anne (Hugh) Reid, of Nanaimo B.C., Lorraine Maclauchlan of Kamloops, BC, sister-in-law Betty Maclauchlan of Nanton, Alberta, niece Doreen Maclauchlan of Gibsons B.C, nephew Jim Maclauchlan of Costa Rica. William was born in Calgary, Alberta March 12, 1915. He started his teaching career in several rural schools in Alberta. After serving three years in England with the R.C.A.F. (Radar) during World War Two, he moved to Westbank BC where he was principal of George Pringle Junior Secondary School. In 1965 he joined the staff of Nanaimo District Secondary School, retiring in 1980. Bill was a life member and past president of the Nanaimo/Ladysmith Teacher’s Association. He loved wood working, photography, gardening and was an avid reader. There will be no service by request. Donations may be made to the charity of choice, if so desired and will be very much appreciated.
