Dorman, (nee Collins) Viola Fay
December 31, 1927 - June 9, 2003
It is with deep sorrow to announce that Fay passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on June 9, 2003, after a short courageous battle with cancer. She left us the same way she lived her life; full of love, grace and dignity. Mom will be forever in our hearts and sadly missed by her family: daughters, Gail (Ralph), Sandra (Verne), Tracey (Dean), and son, Shane (Mona). Grandchildren: Kasi, Russell, Sarah, Kathlene, Bernadette, Quentin, Tessa, Kimberley, Ryan, Shaylynn and Branden. Her sister, Patricia (Cliff), niece, Lynn, and her very special friend Dean.
Fay’s smiling face will be remembered by many good friends, and all the people who knew her through her 25 years of employment at Grassick’s Jewelers.
With special thanks to the Nanaimo Hospital’s palliative care ward and especially Dr. Love. The Home Support Nurses, Care Workers and Private Nurses Bonnie and Samantha. With their support, caring and understanding we found the strength to fulfill mom’s wish to remain at home.
In leiu of cards and flowers memorial donations may be made to BC’s Cancer Society or a charity of choice. Private cremation has taken place.
A Celebration of Fay’s life will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2003 at The Nanaimo Golf and Country Club, 2800 Highland Blvd., Nanaimo.
