Victor (Vic) Herbert HANNA

HANNA, VICTOR HERBERT (VIC) passed away peacefully at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital, Mon. Feb. 12, 2007 after a brief illness.


Vic was predeceased by his dear wife Vera Hanna in 1997, his parents, Murial Hanna (1959) and Frank Hanna (1976), brothers Peter Hanna (1987) and Bill Hanna (1991), sister-in-law Lucy Hanna (1979), grand daughter Susan Hanna (1998) and loving companion Mae McKay (2002).


Survived by his son Frank (Debbie) whom he loved dearly, grandsons Ashley, Travis (Erin) and Lindsay Hanna, sisters-in-law Jean and Maude Hanna, nieces and nephews Tom (Brenda) Hanna, Dave (Coral) Hanna, Rob (Sari) Hanna, Cathy (John) Franklin, Kerry (Bob) Gaultois, Patricia (Mel) Huggins, Louise (Bob) Schultz, Randy (Brenda) Hanna and their families, Keith and Sheila Larson and family and Mr. Gordon McKay.


A proud Nanaimo Native Son, Vic was a 57 year member of Doric Lodge #18 AF and AM, Past Master, Past DDGM, Member of Manoah Lodge #141 Tofino, member of Eastern Star - Crescent Chapter #10 O.E.S. Keystone Chapter, Royal Arch Masons, GRBC Member - Knights Templar of Canada - Bethlehem Preceptory #6, Probus Club member and Life Member B.C. Hydro Power Pioneers.


Starting his career with Nan-Duncan Utilities, then with B.C. Power Commission, which became B.C. Hydro Vic was a 43½ year employee.


He served overseas during WWII with the Canadian Forces from 1941-1946, where he met his wife Vera.


He was a truly special man who will be sadly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

A memorial service celebrating the life of Vic Hanna will be held Mon., Feb. 19, 2007, 2 p.m. at Nanaimo Golf and Country Club, Highland Blvd.
