Barney Williams Senior left us surrounded by his family the morning of Saturday April 17, 2010. Too-Tah is ‘thunder’ and cha chim sun up is ‘putting in order’. His family and many friends remember him for his integrity, kindness and generosity. He spent his life on the coast, starting in Check’le7sept, then marrying into and being adopted by Tia o qui aht. Was a longtime fisher and a carpenter. Was Speaker, Head Warrior & Beachkeeper for his Tyee Francis Gillette of Check’le7sept.
Too-Tah was predeceased by his beautiful wives: Cecelia, Pauline & Armande and by his eldest son Raymond.
He is survived by children: Cecelia Arnet, Barney Williams Jr., Ben Williams, Rose Fred, Pat Williams, Cherie Williams, David Williams, John Fraser, Pierre Williams & Ron Frank.
Service was Wednesday, April 21, 2010. Burial at Yates in Parksville. Gratitude to the Tshechaht Tyee, Ha wilth & people.
