Heathcote, Thelma Elizabeth passed away peacefully at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital on June 21, 2003 at the age of 86 years. Thelma was predeceased by her loving husband of 40 years Joseph and her sisters Vernice, Isabel and Mildred. Thelma is survived by her son Charles (Ella) of Nanaimo, daughter Sally-Beth (Carl) Gimse of Squamish, seven grandchildren; Justin, Carey, Troy, Deborah, Cathi, Terina and Bjorn, three great grandchildren: Haley, Joel and Dawson, brother Wilfred (Irene) McGarrigle of Nanaimo and many nieces and nephews. Cremation. A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel of First Memorial Funeral Services, 1720 Bowen Road, Nanaimo, B.C. on Friday, June 27, 2003 at 12:30 pm with Fred Massey officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Thelma’s memory to the Parkinson’s Society or the Heart and Stroke foundation.
