Stella Anne Olenik
It is with the greatest sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Anne the afternoon of September 10th, 2009 surrounded by her loving family.
Anne was born in Sandy Lake, Manitoba on January 9, 1931. She grew up in Ethelburg and moved to Winnipeg at the age of 15 on her own to work at the Starlight Café, where she later met her husband Gerry and moved to Vancouver Island. It was in Nanaimo that they started the Crest Mobile Home Park in 1961 together, and later Crest II with their dear friends Eve and Joe Wilcox.
Anne made many friends with her kindness, love and sincerity. She always made time to help out others in need.
Anne is survived by her husband Gerry of 52 years, son Brad, daughter Karen and granddaughter Molly.
A Celebration of Anne’s life will take place Saturday, September 19th, 2009 at 11:00 am at Sands Funeral Chapel, 1 Newcastle Avenue, Nanaimo, BC.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the BC Cancer Foundation.
