THOMAS,SHAWN Michael
“Buffalo Knife” passed away suddenly on August 23rd, 2009 in the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital. Born in Vancouver, BC on July 20th, 1976. Age 33 years. Predeceased by his brother Richard Russell Belcourt on June 11th, 1975, grandfather Francis Thomas in 1984, grandmother Isabelle Thomas in 1972, and uncle Gerald Allan Thomas in 1992. Survived by his loving children Brandon Shigwadja, and Lootahsin Thomas; parents: father Richard Thomas and step-father Raymond Gerard Kaboni, and mother Mary; sisters Sasha Shogga (Don Vick), Megan Fox, Diane Kaboni, Faye Contin, Kimberley Thomas, and Katrina Brant; cousin Trevor Amyotte was very close - he loved him like a brother - considered him a brother; adopted brothers Keech Pitawanakwat, and Chris Stewart; adopted sister Erin Meetoos; adopted grandparents Ruth and Lawrence Eyahtaise. Also many special aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins who meant the world to him.
Prayers will be offered in the Snuneymuxw Community Hall, Longhouse Road, Cedar, BC on Thursday evening August 27th, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be celebrated in the Snuneymuxw Community Hall on Friday, August 28th, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. Burial in the Snuneymuxw Cemetery, Nanaimo, BC.
