November 2, 1960 - March 31, 2024

In loving memory ~

Scott passed peacefully on March 31st, 2024 in Revelstoke, B.C. He was born in Chilliwack on November 2, 1960 into a military family. As an Army brat he spent his early years moving around the country and had many memorable trips, including going coast to coast by train to visit with his father's family in Newfoundland. He was a teenager when the family returned to B.C. and settled in Nanaimo. Upon leaving school, Scott worked several jobs before he joined the railway with the encouragement and guidance from his uncle Frank. He worked on the rails for 30 years and spent most of that time in Revelstoke.

Scott had several interests that he was passionate about. He was a proud member of the Masons and Shriners. He especially enjoyed public speaking and his community involvement. His witty sense of humour could be counted on to lighten up every family gathering. He liked playing cards, whether it was the weekly games with the guys in Revelstoke, or with family and friends. Scott would count the days until spring, when the warm weather allowed him to get his beloved Harley out of storage and on the road. He loved his road trips in and around Revelstoke, as well as travelling to the Island when visiting his family. His mother and neighbors would always know when he was arriving because of the very distinctive noise his bike made. He had a love of music; especially live performances. The highlight was getting to see Elton John in Vancouver during his farewell tour.

Scott was predeceased by his dad, Bob (2019) and he is survived by his sons Dylan (Amy), Adam, and their mom Kathy. He was taken too early from his loving mom Pat, brother Rob and sister Dawn (Barry). Scotty's thoughtful, generous nature and sense of humour will be greatly missed. A Celebration of Life will be held for Scott at the Nanaimo Curling Club (106 Wall St.) at 1 pm on Saturday, April 27th, 2024. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice.
