LAYMAN, Ruth Elizabeth

Born September 8, 1919 in Trascona (Winnipeg) Manitoba. Predeceased by her beloved husband of 64 years Russell in Feb. 2007. Survived by son Douglas (Elaine), grandson Jason, granddaughter Jacqueline (Garret) Rogers, great grandsons Maxwell and Eric Rogers, Connor and Duncan Layman. Also survived by her sister and best friend Audrey Lamb of Kamloops. Ruth and Russell married in Trascona and moved from there to the United States for several years and then on to the Okanogan where they resided until moving to Vancouver Island 12 years ago to be closer to their family. They lived in both Chemainus and Ladysmith before moving into LaRosa 5 years ago. Prior to retirement Ruth worked for many years at the Kelowna Courier where she was in charge of circulations. The family wished to thank Dr. Julian Lisinski for his caring treatment over the years. Also heartfelt thanks to the staff at LaRosa Gardens. So often they went way beyond their required duties to make both the Laymans comfortable and happy. The family especially appreciates the kindness they have shown to Ruth since Russell's passing
