ROSA JOAN BAUGH-ALLEN

June 21, 2010

In Loving Memory of Rosa Joan Baugh-Allen

July 17th, 1930 – June 21, 2010

Orchids grow in heaven. Lord, please pick a bunch for us. Place them in our mother’s arms and tell her who they’re from. Tell her that we love her and really miss her too. When she turns to smile, place a kiss upon her cheek and hold her for awhile, Remembering her is easy, we do it everyday, there‘s an ache in our hearts that will never go away.

For those that knew Joan, they will remember her as a warm, welcoming, loving woman and will be sad to learn of her passing.  Joan was born in Meadow Lake Saskatchewan. She moved with her family as a young woman to the island.  Joan lived most of her married life in Wellington and spent her retirement years in the Cassidy area, living near Nanaimo River.  She was an active volunteer with both the local community association and the Scouting movement.  She was also an LPN at the Nanaimo Hospital for many years.  She enjoyed many camping trips with family and good friends.

Joan spent the last 10 years of her life in the extended care facility at Dufferin Crescent.  Thank you to the staff and volunteers for helping to make her stay both pleasant and stimulating.

Joan was predeceased by her husband, Richard (Bo), and her brother, William (Sally).  Joan is survived by her brother, Ken (Pat). Joan is also survived by her three children: son, Robert (Sheryl) and their two children Jackie (Warren) and Travis; son, Anthony (Karen), his two children: Tiffany, (Dennis), Felix, and Dylann; Alina; and step children and step grandchildren Christopher Robert (Coleen) Stacey, Jasmine; Candice Marie, Cameron, and Isabella;  daughter Alison (Derek), their two children, Casey (Daniel) and Kiefer (Ashleigh), as well as one niece and several nephews.

No service by request.  If a donation is to be made, her wish was that it would be to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Safe journey Mom, we love you.
