We announce, with deep sadness, the passing of Robert (Bob) H. White, a long time resident of Nanaimo, B.C. Bob left us on Tuesday, November 17, 2009, with his wife by his side.

He is survived by his wife, Pat, daughter Kathy, sons Gary and Bob Jr., and granddaughters Kim and Sacha. He will also be sorely missed by his brother-in-law Gordon and his sisters-in-law Mary and Judy.

Born October 13, 1924 at Vancouver, B.C., Bob was in the service during WWII (RCAF) and stationed in Europe, discharged at the end of the war, and returned to the West Coast.

A special thanks to his friend Al, who Bob considered a brother, and to all the people who loved him, and who he loved as extended family.

The family wishes to extend their profound gratitude to the Paramedics, the WeCare staff (especially Val and Mike), the Vancouver Island Health Authority nurses, Home Support, Nanaimo General Hospital staff, Dr. Baxter (Vancouver), Dr. Olivier, Dr. King and Dr. Ulsher, and last but equally important, the Dept. of Veterans’ Affairs, and many others who consistently and lovingly tended to Bob in the last year.

A Celebration of Bob’s life, with tributes and memories, will take place in Nanaimo on January 31st, 2010 from 1 to 4 p.m. Those wishing to attend are asked to RSVP by contacting Kathy White at 604-351-7296.
