KORSCH, Reiner Markus
It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of our loving partner, friend, son, and cherished father. Markus passed away on Wednesday, May 12, 2004 at the age of 35 years at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital. Remaining to cherish his memory is his partner Karen (nee Shannon) of 18 years; parents Reiner-Hennig and Brigitte Korsch; son Alexander (Alex) and daughters Ashley and Isabelle, sisters Martina Newsham (Jeff), and Claudia Korsch; brother Stefan Korsch; as well as his many nieces and nephews; and numerous friends. Markus was born in Luebeck, Germany on December 28th, 1968, but made Nanaimo his home. He was a devoted father and son and loved problem solving at the computer. One of his other passions was recycling. He will be remembered for his keen sense of humour, his big heart, and his willingness to always give a hand. There will be a private family viewing at First Memorial and cremation will take place at a later date. Should friends desire, a donation in Markus’ name can be made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of their choice. There was a celebration of his life on Saturday, May 22nd at 2:30pm at the family home. The family would like to thank Rick and Dave, and the staff of the Nanaimo Hospital for their efforts to assist Markus. Also, many thanks to Darryl and Marion for their help.
