Murray Douglas Jones

The family is saddened to announce the passing of a very special man, Murray Douglas Jones, on Wednesday, March 1st, 2017, after a lengthy journey with Alzheimers.

Murray was born on December 3rd, 1933, in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. Pre-deceased by his mother, Muriel, father, Charles and 3 brothers, he is survived by his brother, Ray (Marilyn) and sister, Shirley Stockdale.

He leaves to mourn, his loving wife of 52 years, Merrilyn, son, Lance (Joanna), daughters, Leanne, Dellas, Susan (Rick), grandchildren, great grandchildren, brother-in-law, Don (June) MacKenzie, cousin Carol (Don), and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Murray’s Life will be held at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 4235 Departure Bay Road, on Saturday, March 11th, 2017 at 2:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of BC, 300 - 828 West 8th Avenue, Vancouver, BC, V5Z 1E2 would be appreciated.

Thank you to the Staff at Stanford Seniors Village, Parksville, for the excellent care and compassion while Murray was in residence.

We would like to thank our family and friends for their love and support during this difficult time.
