Sutton, Muriel Joyce

Born in Victoria, B.C. passed away peacefully at Nanaimo Hospital on October 31, 2003. Muriel is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, John David Sutton, her sister, Dorothy (Bob) Kay, nephews, Stephen (Evelyn) Kay with children, Alexander and Robert; Thomas Kay with children, Maya and Eric; niece, Nancy Martin, her Aunt Grace Dobney, Bandon, Oregon; cousins, Claudia McCourt, Portland, Oregon; Michael (Linda) Dobney, Long Island, NY; Peggy Price, Victoria, BC; Stuart Price, Texada Island, and special family, Ron and Linda Mancor and children who treasured each and every moment with Muriel. John and Muriel were married at St. John’s Anglican Church in Victoria on July 9, 1947. During her time in Victoria Muriel worked at Richardson Stock and Bonds as well as the B.C. Government in the Hansard for many years as a transcriber. Muriel will be remembered for her many years of service to the Retired Hydro Power Pioneers, her great love for and faith in the Lord, her wonderful sense of humour and her love of life. Many thanks to Dr.Petreman, Dr. Rainer, the nurses and the hospice workers of the palliative care unit at NRGH for their care and guidance as well as the tremendous support of Muriel’s church family in St. Philip’s by-the-Sea Anglican Church and the Hydro Power Pioneer members. A Memorial Service will be held in St. Philip’s by-the-Sea Anglican Church at 7113 Lantzville Road, Lantzville, B.C. at 11:00 am on Thursday, November 6, 2003. In lieu of flowers donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
