Mona M Bell (nee McCarthy)

June 11, 1951 – January 30, 2010

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Mona Bell after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Her family supported her during her illness and was by her side at her final moment.

Predeceased by her parents Dennis and Fiona McCarthy, Mona is survived by her loving husband of 36 years Dick and their daughters Angela (Shane) and Monica (Chad), her sisters Colleen Menzyk, Nora Bergerman (Roy) Sherri Przada (Bill), many nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends and her devoted and faithful dogs Sharky and Kali who never left her side.

Born in Campbell River, B.C. June 11, 1951 Mona moved to Nanaimo at a young age. For 40 years she worked as a legal assistant with the same firm – Ramsay Lampman Rhodes and was well respected by all in the legal community.

Mona was a devoted and loving wife, mother, sister, co-worker and friend to all who knew her.

In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mona’s name to the Canadian Cancer Society.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday February 5th at First Memorial Funeral Home on Bowen Rd at 10:30 a.m.

Special thanks to Dr. Baird and the Palliative Care Nurses and staff.

We will miss you Mona, love you and you will be in our hearts forever.
