Mo Ciz

October 2, 1937 to October 16, 2009

It is with the heaviest of hearts that the family of Mo Ciz announces his peaceful passing on Friday, October 16, 2009, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Daysland, Alberta on October 02, 1937. He was the youngest of eight children.

He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Barbara, daughter Lori, (Jeff) of Nova Scotia, sons: Mark, (Gena), Ken, (Theresa) of Cold Lake; his treasured 16 grandchildren, Alan, (Bobbi), Aaron, (Colleen), Stephen, Ashleigh, Damon, Devin, Ryan, Caysen, Matthew, Kylen, Braedyn, Serena, Jeremiah, Izzac, Anne-Marie, Echo and 2 great grand children, Emily and Ethan. He is also survived by brother Michael, (Glenora), 3 sisters: Anne, Helen, and Olga (Bill). He was predeceased by his parents Dmitro and Maria and three brothers Joseph, Walter and Mirro.

He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Caring, loving, loyal, generous and direct are just a few of the words to describe this remarkable man who will live on forever in our hearts. His uncommon diligence, restraint and accuracy in carrying out his responsibilities, as well as his exemplary honesty and friendliness towards his colleagues won him universal affection and respect among his peers.

The family wishes to recognize the extraordinary care and attention provided by his doctors, home care, 3rd floor nursing staff and extended care staff of the Cold Lake Hospital, they were like angels in a time of need.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke, Cancer and Diabetes Foundations. Funeral services were held on Thursday October 22, 2009 at 1:00 pm at Holy Name Chapel at 4 Wing Cold Lake.
