In Kemptville on Sunday, September 14, 2003 Melvina Gertrude Payne (nee Fenton) of Kemptville, age 100. Beloved wife of the late Bruce Payne. Loving mother of Gerald (Leona) of Nanaimo, BC. Loving sister of Winnifred Durant of Kemptville. Cherished grandmother of Andy, Bruce, David, Susan, Donald and Douglas; great-grandmother of 12 and great-great grandmother of 3. Predeceased by her parents Silas W. Fenton and Alzina Dillabough; daughter Audrey Harvey (Edgar); brother Ernest Fenton; sisters Nina Treiber, Violet Beeler, Ruby Locke and Rita Laushway. Visitation was held at Grant Brown Funeral Home Rolston Chapel, Kemptville on Wednesday, September 17th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral services were held in the chapel of the funeral home on Thursday, September 18th at 11am. Interment followed at Kemptville Union Cemetery. Those who wish, may make memorial donations to Kemptville District Hospital Foundation.
