Lawson, Marlene Ann

April 13, 1942 ~ April 21, 2017

Sadly we announce the passing of Marlene Ann Lawson of Nanaimo, BC. Marlene just celebrated her 75th birthday with her loving family. She was born in Rabbit Lake Saskatchewan and raised in Regina. In 1976 Marlene moved to Nanaimo with her then husband Albert and three daughters, where she spent the rest of her life. Marlene was a talented and creative crafts person.  She loved to sew, knit and crotchet, making numerous siwash sweaters, blankets and wash cloths for her family and friends.  In her later years one of her greatest pleasures was riding her scooter to University Plaza for her daily coffee at Starbucks or Subway.  She also loved her daily phone calls she gifted all her family with.  She had an infectious smile that instantly lit up the room and will be forever missed. She was known to be a kind person and a great champion of her grandchildren whom she adored.

Marlene is pre-deceased by her father Cecil, and daughter Wanda . She is survived by two daughters Twyla and Maria (Bert), mother Amy, siblings Hope (Barry), Terry, Danny (Carol), Peggy (Daryl), Lillian (Rick), Colleen (Kevin). She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren, Rachel, Amanda, Waylon, Hunter, Victoria, Spencer, Joshua and Emma and great-grand children, Emily, Dylan, Brooklyn, and Alexandra.

The memorial is being held on Monday May 1, 2017 at 11:00AM Sands Funeral Home.
