MARILYN "Bubbles" ROZZANO

September 21, 2008

Rozzano, Marilyn “Bubbles”

Marilyn passed away, surrounded by her loving family, at Woodgrove Manor, on Sunday, Sept. 21, 2008, after a brave fight with cancer. She was born, Crystal Marilyn Booth, in Nanaimo on Feb. 4th, 1935. She was predeceased by her husband David (Rosie) in 2001.

Marilyn spent her early years in Youbou, B.C. moving to Nanaimo at the age of 14 years. After high school she went to work at the local telephone office. She married Dave in 1953 and thoroughly devoted her efforts to her home and raising the family. She loved to walk, read, dabbled in water colours and Chinese cooking. She enjoyed her summers at the cabin at Horne Lake and the weekly gathering of the neighbour ladies for coffee. Marilyn was a reliable volunteer for the Port Theatre and Cancer Clinic. She was also a 250 member of the Blood Donor Society.

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her son, David Jr. (Lorelie) and daughters Donna (Grant Skipper), Lorraine, Crystal and Allison (Dan). “Nana Rozie” was adored by her grandchildren Linsay (Cody), Brandon (fiance Renee), Gina (fiance Ryan), Layne, Brodie and great-grandchild Emily. Also left to mourn her passing are her brother Jack, sister Darlene (George Schofield), brother-in-law Lorne (Sally), nephew Brad and nieces Diane, Judine and Gail.

Many thanks to Dr. Spry, Dr. Alscher, the attentive staff of Woodgrove Manor and especially to Angela Robertson for her dedicated support.

A memorial service, in honour of Marilyn, will be held on Monday, Sept. 29, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Memorial Chapel, 1720 Bowen Rd. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marilyn’s memory may be made to the Cancer Society or the Special Olympics.
