PENNINGTON, Margaret Elizabeth
IT is with sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Elizabeth Pennington (nee Parkin) on September 12th, 2009 at Malaspina Gardens, Nanaimo, BC. She was the first child born to Jim and Irene Parkin on February 28th, 1928. Predeceased by her parents, daughter; Bonnie, brother; Charlie, sister; Fran. She leaves to mourn her passing Dave, her loving husband of 46 years, daughter; Gloria and granddaughter, Jennifer Young, step-daughter; Debbie Hess, and her partner Andy Hurrie, son; Bob (Sharon) Parkin, 14 grandchildren, and 7 great- grandchildren, brothers; Jim (Barbara), and Reg (Hazel) Parkin, sister-in-laws; Penny Boyd and Judy Parkin, brother-in-law; Bob Taylor, and numerous nieces and nephews. Marg will long be remembered as Assistant Manager of Nanaimo Martinizing, for her handicraft work, and as a wonderful cook. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, and friend. Her memory will be cherished in the hearts of all those lives she touched. A very special thank you to Marg’s caregivers at Malaspina Gardens for their gentle care over the past 2 years.
Marg will be remembered at a private family gathering at a later date. Flowers gratefully declined, in memory of Marg those so desiring may make donations to the Alzheimer Society of BC, 2571A Quadra Street, Victoria, BC V8T 4E1.
