Malcolm Elder

February 29, 1916 - December 13, 2008

Our generous friend, mentor and storyteller, Malcolm Elder died peacefully and in comfort in Palliative Care at Nanaimo Hospital on December 13, 2008. Malcolm served in the United Kingdom with the 102nd Heavy Battery Unit of the Royal Canadian Army during WWII. A very giving and quiet man, he made many generous financial contributions to various organizations within our community, but never seeking recognition for his gifts. His friends will commemorate his passing with an evening of remembrance, telling stories of this man’s remarkable life and times. If you would like to participate, please join us at the Nanaimo German Hall, 71 Caledonia Ave., Nanaimo, BC on Sunday, March 1, 2009, from 7 pm - 9:30 pm, Potluck and BYOB.
