Louise Lewis
1937 – 2017
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving Mother and Wife on April 23, 2017, after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s. Louise will be sadly missed by Gerry her loving husband of 63 years who never left her side, and her children Bruce (Diane), Jeff and Gerry (Elizabeth), as well as her seven grandchildren, Cydney, Stephen, Devon, Jenna, Rhys, Calvin, and Daniel.
Louise and Gerry married in Edmonton, Alberta at an early age, and as she always said were “stuck at the hip”. Louise and Gerry experienced a marriage of love and friendship that will last into eternity.
Louise was an inspiration to the many people she met along the way. She always had a beautiful smile, a great sense of humour, was friendly, outgoing, and many people came to her for advice.
Louise worked for many years in various positions within the Food and Hospitality Industry and retired in Nanaimo, BC with her husband 27 years ago.
Louise was a loving, devoted mother and wife, and her family was everything to her. She had many interests which included travelling, cooking, interior design and antiquing.
Flowers gratefully declined, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s society in memory of Louise. A celebration of Louise’s life will be held in Edmonton in June.
