Carpenter, Louie Nee Heathcote died in Nanaimo, B.C., September 18, 2009, resident of Nanaimo for 84 years. Born in Lancashire, England, March 22, 1915. Emigrated to Edmonton, Alta. in 1921 and then settled in Nanaimo in 1925. Survived by her loving husband Terence E. Carpenter after 67 years of marriage, son Patrick Edward, of Nanaimo, B.C., daughter Sheila Diane of Wynndel, B.C., granddaughter Pauline of Kaslo, B.C., one sister-in-law Dorothy Heathcote of Cedar, B.C. & numerous nephews and nieces.
A devoted member of St. Paul’s Anglican Church of Nanaimo, B.C. since her confirmation there in 1928. A memorial service was held at St. Paul’s on Sept. 23, 2009 @ 11:00 am with burial service afterwards & ashes buried in the church garden. No flowers by request.
