Lori Lynn LEWIS

February 25, 2009

LEWIS, Lori Lynn

It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of our daughter Lori on February 25, 2009. Lori was very special to us.

Many have asked of us “What is it like to raise a “Downs” daughter. The best reply we can give is “Eternal Spring”.

Lori like all others born with downs, they are loving, happy, and always smiling. Lori was no exception, she loved people and people loved her. She will be dearly missed by all who were touched by her. Especially her family.

Born April 30, 1959 in Edmonton, living there with her parents Ken and Anne Lewis until 1992. Lori along with her parents moved to Parksville, BC. Lori was well supported by the community, especially the Parksville Qualicum News for which she had worked. In 2006 the family moved to Ladysmith, BC. As Lori's health started to fail, she spent her last days in the Lodge On 4th in Ladysmith. Lori is survived by her Mom and Dad and her loving brother Jeff and his wife Diana, nephews Rylee, Eric, and Terry (Edmonton), as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins in Canada and the U.S. Our thanks to Carol Shortt and the team from Social Services who were so supportive of Lori. Our thanks also to her care givers Christine Bayfield and Lena Groenier as well as the staff at the Lodge on 4th who were always so caring and kind to Lori and her parents.

A memorial talk will be held at the Ladysmith Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1724 Vowels Road, Cassidy, BC, at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, March 3rd, 2009 (across from the Nanaimo Airport).

Condolences can be sent to Ken, Anne, and family at K777@shaw.ca.
